I often categorize my books as adventure-romance, not just science fiction. The desire to go places you’ve never been, see new things, and experience the exotic and dangerous, are all deep in the human psyche. The strange thing is, that whenever I’ve done any sort of adventurous travel, I find that other people are not just there, but have taken up residence. My adventure is their home.
As much as I enjoy examining and understanding the physical world, it is the people that make adventuring so much fun. Wherever you travel, I encourage you to pay little attention to the unique geology (that’s hard for me), ancient structures, and beautiful vistas. Get to know the people. They are the key to understanding everything else around you. You are in their home. Ask questions, explore the culture, and be a good guest. Remember to say thank you when you leave.
